TEA Rule News
Adopted TEA rules (with
effective date):
  • Identifying the industry based certifications (IBC) that are recognized for the purpose of accounting for students who earn industry certification in the public school accountability system. (Jan. 9)

  • Revising rules that give the education commissioner authority over the control and/or disposition of real property that was bought with public funds upon a charter holder’s ceasing operations. Among other things, the rule establishes a priority list by which an ISD or charter can receive the property. (Jan. 6)

  • Revising the criteria for assigning ISDs and charters financial accountability ratings, and specifying the minimum financial accountability rating info that an ISD/charter must report to parents and taxpayers. (Jan. 5)
