A–F Accountability
Valuable new features and updated data elements are now available on TXschools.gov. This year, given the impact of COVID-19, all districts and schools received an accountability label of Not Rated: Declared State of Disaster. Accountability labels and data shown on TXschools.gov reflect prior year(s) accountability outcomes; however, finance and profile data were updated to reflect the most current information.
What is new?
- Map Filtering Options: The school map search features new filtering options that allow users to refine their school search to specific characteristics. Users can filter by
- Academic Programs (to learn more, click here);
- School Enrollment Type (to learn more, click here);
- School Type (to learn more, click here);
- School Designations (to learn more, click here); and
- School Ratings.
- Online/Virtual Schools: Users can search for Online/Virtual Schools (Texas Virtual School Network) using the map search feature. These public schools are TEA-accredited, free, full-time online schools serving eligible Texas public school students in grades 3–12. To learn more, click here.
- Homepage Redesign: The TXschools.gov homepage has a new look. Users can search for a school using their address or current location or by school or district name. Also, the TexasAssessment.gov site can now be accessed from any page on the site.
- Postsecondary Outcomes Report: Users can access the new Postsecondary Outcomes report for any school or district with graduation data. The Postsecondary Outcomes report shows the percentage of graduates who earned a two-year or four-year degree, a Level I or Level II certificate, or an industry-based certification up to five years after high school graduation.
- Profile Page Information: The school Profile page includes select academic program offerings and school designations.
- Spanish TXschools.gov Site: Users will be able to access TXschools.gov in Spanish by clicking the “Español” button in the top right of any page (coming August 31, 2020).
- Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) Links: Links to the HTML version of TAPR will be updated with available 2020 data elements on a rolling basis as they are released on the TEA website (coming fall 2020).
- Purple Star School Designation: Schools earning a Purple Star designation will be added to the school map search filtering capabilities. To learn more, click here (coming October 2020).
- Analyze Tool: The Analyze Tool will be updated to reflect the most current finance data (coming August 31, 2020).
