TEA Updates Schools on Coronavirus
The TEA released (Feb. 28) an updated advisory to schools and the public on the coronavirus.
The agency says it is closely monitoring media reports and information shared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is working with other state agencies to prepare effective guidance for public school districts.
The advisory also provides some basic tips — ranging from washing and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces, to getting a flu shot and properly washing your hands often.
In related news, the Texas School Safety Center has posted a continually updated list of resources about the virus, and reminds districts that their required emergency operations plans must include a “communicable disease annex.”
