Proposed TEA Rule
Commissioner of Education Rules
The following rule action was filed with the Texas Register for publication in the February 28, 2020 issue:
Proposed Amendment to 19 TAC Chapter 101, Assessment, Subchapter AA, Commissioner's Rules Concerning the Participation of English Language Learners in State Assessments, Division 1, Assessments of English Language Proficiency and Academic Content for English Language Learners, §101.1003, English Language Proficiency Assessments
Summary: The proposed amendment would modify the rule to provide clarification for the assessment of English learners with significant cognitive disabilities.
Publication in the Texas Register: February 28, 2020
Public Comment Period: February 28, 2020-March 30, 2020. A form for submitting public comments is available on the proposed commissioner of education rules web page.
Proposed Effective Date: May 31, 2020
