Fiscal Ratings
The TEA released (Nov. 6) the final 2019-20 Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) ratings.

Most ISDs and open-enrollment charters received passing ratings, and most received the top-rated “A-Superior Achievement” rating.

Many, but not all, of the ISDs and charters receiving an “F” grade failed on a measure asking if they made timely payments to the TRS, Texas Workforce Commission, IRS, etc.

ISDs receiving “F” ratings were: 1) Culberson County-Allamoore, 2) Divide, 3) Floresville, 4) Jim Hogg County, 5) Karnes City, 6) Leander, 7) Lytle, 8) Meridian, 9) Rio Hondo and 10) Roscoe Collegiate.

Open-enrollment charter districts receiving “F” ratings are: 1) Bridgeway Preparatory Academy (Dallas County), 2) Priority Charter Schools (Bell County) and 3) Texas Serenity Academy (Montgomery County).

The state’s eight higher-ed affiliated charters, which are rated on a simple Pass/Fail FIRST ratings system, all received a “Pass” rating, as noted below:
