The 1,671-student Brownfield ISD (near Lubbock) is the focus of a recently released 161-page management and performance review by the Legislative Budget Board.
The review identified “significant deficiencies” in planning and budgeting, facilities planning/management, technology programs, transportation operations, and in other areas.
The report makes numerous recommendations that it says could save the district an average of $351,000 annually, with estimated five-year overall cost savings of $1.7 million.
