Proposed rule:
  • Adopting into rule form excerpts of the 2020 Results Driven Accountability (RDA) manual (previously known as the Performance Based Monitoring Analysis System (PBMAS). Virtual public hearings on the proposed rule will be held June 9 and 10.

    Comment by June 22.


Adopted (without changes, effective May 31):
  • Implementing 2019’s HB548 that requires districts to report specific truancy info to the TEA via PEIMS.

  • Allowing the State Board of Education to nominate an instructional material for inclusion in the instructional materials portal as a part of the evaluation of quality (EoQ) process.

  • Requiring that all English learners (EL) “with the most significant cognitive disabilities” who cannot participate in the general Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS), even with allowable accommodations, must (to meet federal requirements) participate in the alternate TELPAS.
