State Auditor Dings TRS & TEA Over Contracting
The TEA and TRS are among five state agencies receiving the lowest possible rating (summary/full report) in an analysis of state-agency contracting policies released (April 15) by the State Auditor’s Office (SAO).

The TEA and TRS received the SAO’s rating of Additional Monitoring Warranted for at least one contracting period. The report, which did not go into extensive detail, noted that TRS and TEA specifically need additional monitoring of their contract management/termination and contract solicitation development practices.

The SAO assigned contract monitoring assessment ratings to 25 state agencies and large public colleges and universities.
