For ISDs and Charters Combined
TEA Reports 2019-20 Budgeted Pay Data
Texas schools this school year budgeted, on average, raises of $2,278 for each of their employees, just released TEA Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data reflects.

The data reflects info reported to the TEA last October, and combines info from ISDs and charters.

This is the first comprehensive school employee pay data that the TEA has released since the passage of 2019’s HB3.

  • Note: HB3 (briefly stated) greatly increased funding to schools primarily by increasing the basic allotment in order to raise the pay levels of all full-time nonadministrative school employees, with the focus on: 1) teachers, 2) counselors, 3) nurses and 4) librarians. Each step on the state’s minimum salary schedule, for eligible employees, was increased by nearly 20 percent.

Teachers with five or more years experience are “prioritized” under HB3 for additional compensation (see this explanatory TEA pdf slideshow and video).
