Jobs and Education for Texans (JET)
An $8 million
Texas Workforce Commission program to buy and install equipment costing at least $5,000 that is needed for career and technical education (CTE) courses leading to a license, certificate or postsecondary degree in an eligible career/tech field.

Eligible applicants are higher-ed entities meeting specified criteria and school districts that partner with eligible higher-ed entities.

School Innovation
The nonprofit
New Tech Network (NTN) will award its second round of competitive planning grants to 10 Texas middle schools and/or high schools interested in implementing its school model and innovative project-based learning practices.

Among other things, grant recipients will receive up to $3,000 for travel related expenses and could qualify for an extra $50 per student allotment under provisions of 2019’s HB3 career and technology section. There are currently 25 participating NTN schools in Texas.

Deadline: Feb. 7.
